High-Impact PP Grades: K8303 vs Copo

Impact copolymers span a range from medium to very high impact, set mainly by how much rubber phase they contain. Moving up the scale trades stiffness and heat resistance for cold-weather toughness.

Sinopec PP K8303 sits at the high-impact end, aimed at parts that must survive drops, bumps and low temperatures without cracking. It is over-specified for mild indoor use and under-built for nothing in its band.

Choosing within the family means matching the grade to the worst credible service condition, then accepting the stiffness loss that comes with the extra toughness.

Where High Impact Pays Off

Bumpers, exterior trims and parts exposed to cold or impact benefit most from a high-impact grade, because failure there is visible and costly.

For benign interior parts, a medium-impact grade often suffices and recovers some stiffness and cost. The decision is about the duty, not a fixed preference.
